Requirements:

The following are the requirements to apply for telephone line technician vacancies within Canada;

Qualifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Languages: English

Duties:

The candidates shall perform;

• Install and maintain aerial & underground telephone equipment
• Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders & other support structures
• Repair/ replace defective telephone equipment regularly
• Excellent communication skills are needed
• Time management & customer service skills
• Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble & then sort out issues
• Inspect and test trunking systems in areas to find problems
• Splice, join and connect wires to run the process
• Test equipment to locate transmission faults and issues
• Read and interpret blueprints and work accordingly
• Complete and maintain test and service reports of telephone equipment
• Moreover, instruct apprentices & repair the coaxial line, fiber optics, copper & single telephone lines, etc
• A valid driving license is required
• Use of steel-toed safety boots while performing work
• Handling heavy loads and being physically fit to perform well
• Should pass the basic security clearance at the beginning of the job
• Installation of cables in rural, urban, and remote locations
